Who We Are

Paradox Management Limited operates this platform as a private educational service. We provide:

  • Self-paced online courses on CPT-relevant topics
  • Study materials covering regulatory, compliance, and financial topics
  • Interactive quizzes and assessments
  • Certificates of completion for our platform only
  • Progress tracking and learning management tools

What We Are NOT

We do NOT meet the SFC's criteria for "recognised institutions"

According to the SFC Guidelines on Continuous Professional Training (Section 8), recognised institutions must:

  • Be endorsed by the Academic and Accreditation Advisory Committee (AAAC)
  • Have at least 3 years track record in providing training
  • Have an independent committee with industry representatives
  • Provide interactive training with attendance verification
  • Be listed on the SFC's official website

Paradox Management Limited does NOT meet these criteria and is NOT on the SFC's list.

We are NOT:

  • ❌ An authorized CPT provider
  • ❌ Approved or endorsed by the AAAC
  • ❌ Approved or endorsed by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)
  • ❌ Approved or endorsed by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)
  • ❌ A "recognised institution for providing CPT" under SFC guidelines
  • ❌ Affiliated with any regulatory body, professional association, or government agency
  • ❌ Able to guarantee that our courses meet your specific CPT requirements

What We Can Do

Our platform provides educational content for self-study and preparation:

  • Note: These certificates serve as proof of completion on our platform ONLY and may not be accepted by regulators or employers

  • Record of completed courses and hours
  • Study time tracking
  • Flexible, self-paced learning

What We Cannot Do

We CANNOT:

  • ❌ Guarantee our courses satisfy SFC CPT requirements
  • ❌ Provide legally recognized CPT hours
  • ❌ Replace training from AAAC-approved institutions
  • ❌ Confirm whether our certificates will be accepted by your employer
  • ❌ Provide official CPT documentation for regulatory submissions
  • ❌ Offer legal or compliance advice regarding CPT obligations

User Responsibility

⚠️ IMPORTANT: YOU are responsible for your CPT compliance

Before using our platform:

  • Consult your employer's compliance officer to determine if our courses are acceptable
  • Review the SFC Guidelines on Continuous Professional Training (available at sfc.hk)
  • Check if your corporation requires training from recognised institutions only
  • Understand your specific CPT requirements based on your license type (LR, RO, ReI, EO)
  • Keep records of all CPT activities for at least 3 years

We do NOT accept liability if our courses do not meet your regulatory requirements.

SFC CPT Requirements (Summary)

According to the SFC Guidelines (January 2022):

Licensed Representatives (LR) / Relevant Individuals (ReI):

  • Minimum 10 CPT hours per calendar year
  • At least 5 hours on topics directly relevant to their regulated activities
  • At least 2 hours on ethics or compliance per year (first 2 hours must be on ethics for new joiners)

Responsible Officers (RO) / Executive Officers (EO):

  • Minimum 12 CPT hours per calendar year
  • Additional 2 hours on regulatory compliance
  • Same requirements as LR/ReI plus higher responsibility training

Acceptable CPT Activities (per SFC Guidelines Section 6):

  • ✅ Attending courses, workshops, lectures, seminars
  • ✅ Distance learning with assignments
  • ✅ Self-study or online learning courses (with assessments)
  • ✅ Industry research, publication of papers
  • ✅ Giving lectures or teaching
  • ❌ Normal working activities
  • ❌ General reading of financial press
  • ❌ Activities without interaction

📘 Important Note on Self-Study

The SFC Guidelines (Section 6.2c) state that "self-study or online learning courses" are acceptable CPT activities, provided they include:

  • Independent assessments (evaluation or test results)
  • Sufficient records to demonstrate fulfillment and duration

Our platform provides assessments and time tracking. However, whether our specific courses meet your CPT requirements depends on your employer's policies and the SFC's evaluation. Consult your compliance officer.

Our Approach

We design our courses with SFC CPT guidelines in mind:

  • Relevant Topics: Regulatory compliance, ethics, conduct, products, risk management, AML/CTF, data privacy
  • Assessments Required: All courses include quizzes with passing scores
  • Time Tracking: Study time and quiz time are recorded
  • Certificates: Issued upon successful completion with verification
  • Records: Users can access their history and certificates

However, we cannot guarantee that regulators or employers will accept our courses as CPT activities.
